Fourth tool: ICT as Co-constructive tools

Welcome again to my blog. Today I want to share on the fourth tool that is ICT as a co-construction tool.

My understanding of co-construction tool
 
Initially, I don’t have any idea on ICT as co-construction but after referring to sir notes and doing the group activity using google docs I came to know that ICT as a co-constructive tool are applications that support the construction of knowledge through a shared understanding (collaboratively consolidate the ideas) or Co-constructive tool can be understood as a tool that can be used to construct knowledge collaboratively.

Working on google docs (my experiences)


After watching the video tutorial about Google docs I knew that Google Docs is a free Web-based application in which documents and spreadsheets can be created, edited, and stored online. Files can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection and a full-featured Web browser. Google Docs is compatible with most presentation software and word processor applications. Google Docs is a part of a comprehensive package of online applications offered by and associated with Google. Users of Google Docs can import, create, edit and update documents and spreadsheets in various fonts and file formats, combining text with formulas, lists, tables, and images. Google Docs is a service supported by the search engine Google where anyone with an account can create, store, and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. This service allows people to work on their own or collaboratively.

Finallywe have to create a group in google docs. Through sir guidance and support we are able to create a group and also knew how to enter or step into google docs;

After making the group in google docs, in a group, we have to prepare a detailed ICT integrated lesson plan on the ICT primary school curriculum from class IV to VI. My group chose to write a lesson plan on action words/verbs for class 3. Since we are working on google docs for the first time my group faced a lot of problems to enter in to google docs, how to invite friends into google, how to invite our tutor to comments in our lesson plan and we also faced problem to how to chat in google docs.

Finally, my group well equipped to work in the google docs and we came up with an interesting lesson using ICT to teach action words/verbs for class four. We work collaboratively in the group to discuss the lesson plan. We make sure that every three of us contribute some ideas to make an interesting lesson plan. We spend almost two weeks to complete our lesson plan. I realized that if we work collaboratively with friends everything is possible.

Continuation on construction (posting video tutorial lesson on the Facebook)


Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share or reflect on experiences and knowledge that I got after posting/uploading a video tutorial lesson on Facebook.

The next day, sir created a group on Facebook (group name as IV PCA EduTech 2020). We all are supposed to upload the video tutorial that we constructed using Camtasia on Facebook.


What I learned after giving feedback to friends video tutorial lesson and receiving comments from friends

After posting the video tutorial we all are supposed to comments every post in one paragraph. I learned and got a lot of knowledge after watching and giving comments to a friend’s video tutorial lesson. After watching friends video tutorial lesson I got the knowledge to change my video tutorial lesson in better and creative ways. I got the skills like how to add interesting animation, music, background design, and background sound























After seeing the comments on my video tutorial lesson from Facebook it boost my interest to work hard. Through the comments, I knew that my video tutorial will cater to the needs of children.
I realized that it is important to share or show our work to friends to receive comments to construct our work in a better way. Hence posting videos on Facebook and giving comments and receiving comments helps us to construct our knowledge creatively.

In future I will always allow students to check friends work and give comments. Since after giving and receiving the feedback on video tutorial lesson I learned two important lesson which is really important to the students. The two lessons are;

Feedback can motivate

By asking for feedback, it can actually motivating students to perform better. Students like to feel valued and appreciate being asked to provide feedback that can help formulate education decisions.

Feedback can improve performance

Feedback is often mistaken for criticism. In fact, what is viewed as negative criticism is actually constructive criticism and is the best find of feedback that can help to formulate better decisions to improve and increase performance.


Hence, I will allow students to give feedback on their friends work(Home work, Class work and presentation)

Continuation on constructive tool (Camtasia Studio 9)


Topic: Continuation of constructive tool (Camtasia Studio 9)

Welcome to my ICT blog once again. I want to reflect on how I constructed video tutorials on introducing rate for class 6 (Mathematics) using Camtasia studio 9 which is the latest version. 

My experiences on working on Camtasia studio 9




After knowing what is meant by Camtasia Studio 9 I learnt to how to download and install the software. I learnt how to download and install the software through following video.
 

I tried to use Camtasia Studio 6 to construct video tutorials on introducing the rate but I found this software giving problems in producing full screen. Hence, I tried to explore the latest version of Camtasia software. I googled and watched on YouTube to get familiar and get a lot of ideas about Camtasia studio 9 because I am using it for the first time.  
First I explored what is meant by Camtasia studio 9. After exploring I understood that Camtasia Studio 9 is a powerful software tool that allows us to record their PC's screen and produce professional-level videos. The videos can be a full lecture, PowerPoint presentation, or a set of images. Narration or lecture audio can be recorded at that time or re-narrated at a later date.

After downloading and stalling the software I explored more on what we can do in Camtasia Studio 9.In Camtasia Studio 9 we can:
  •  Add, delete and edit texts
  •  Add music and video
  •   Locking the Track. 
  • Highlight Effect.
  • Add Transitions 
  •  Add a Zoom Effect.
  • Cursor Magnify
  • Slip video and music.
After knowing how to download/stall and features of software but my big question is how can we use Camtasia Studio 9 to construct video tutorial lesson. The following video show how to use Camtasia Studio 9 for a beginner. After watching the video I knew how to use the Camtasia Studio 9 and finally I am confident to construct the video tutorial on Introducing the rate for class 6 mathematics.

After having thorough ideas of Camtasia Studio 9, I started to construct a video tutorial on Introducing the rate. To construct a video first I made a PowerPoint presentations following the ppt design principles.  

Finally I am able to construct a video tutorial lesson on Introducing the rate for class 6(Mathematics) after working for almost three weeks. While working on the constructing video tutorial, I learnt many things like how to download/install the software, how to add texts, how to slip and delete the video/voice, how to add animation and how to add musics and videos in our lesson. I got lot of experiences to construct a video tutorial using Camtasia Studio 9.


What I learned after doing the assignment(constructing a video tutorial using Camtasia)

Finally i realized that it is very important to use Camtasia in education center/classroom because maximum students are learning better if teacher teaches using ICT. Moreover, using Camtasia we can record what's on your screen, then edit your video lessons the way you want. Keep a personal touch with green screen or your webcam. Share videos securely with our class or just one student. Hence all the students will learn better and faster when teachers teach through Camtasia.

After doing the assignment on constructing a video tutorial using Camtasia I was encouraged and motivated to teach some lessons using Camtasia software to the students. I found out that using Camtasia software we can teach effectively and give quality education to the students as using Camtasia we can record our voice, add pictures and videos. If the students are not able to understand the lesson they will replay and learn again. For instance, if the students don't have any smartphone to watch the lesson that I send to them I will show the lesson that I record using the Camtasia in the class to all the students. So, all the students will get an equal opportunity to learn a lesson from Camtasia. Hence, in the future, I will use Camtasia software to teach a lesson in the classroom.
